We Welcome Visitors and Newcomers at Christ Church<\/h3>\n<\/div>\n

We welcome people of all faiths to worship with us. Our service bulletins and friendly folks make it easy to follow along. If you have questions about how we celebrate at Christ Church or would just like to know more about us, please contact the church office at 732-741-2220 or email rector@christchurchshrewsbury.org<\/a> to arrange a meeting with our Priest-in-Charge, Mother Susanna. There are so many ways for everyone to be involved in worship, outreach, and fellowship!<\/span><\/p>\n

FAQ:<\/p>\n

What do I wear to church?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Whatever makes you comfortable! We have folks wearing suits and ties, shorts and t-shirts, workout gear, just-got-out-of-the-house-with-the-kids outfits, and everything in between.<\/p>\n

What if my baby cries?<\/strong><\/p>\n

You’ll be in good company with parents and grandparents who have ALL been there before. We believe that the sound of children is “a joyful noise” and we welcome your family.<\/p>\n

What if I get hungry after the service?<\/strong><\/p>\n

You’re in luck! Our services are followed by our Coffee Hour in the Parish House, and there are always lots of delicious things to share and good conversations to be had.<\/p>\n

Is there a Sunday School for my kids?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Absolutely! During the regular school year, our kids meet up in our Parish House classrooms downstairs at 8:50, then join us in the church at the Peace, just in time for Communion. The last Sunday of each month is reserved for our Family Sunday service, where everyone comes to church together for a Children’s Sermon and Blessing, and all the kids are invited to join Mother Susanna at the altar for a front-row seat during Communion.<\/p>\n

What if I’ve never been to an Episcopal Church before? How will I know what to do?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Lots of folks come to the Episcopal Church from other faith traditions, and we want to make our worship as accessible as possible. We have service bulletins with most of the prayers and responses printed out, and our prayer books and hymnals are handy and available in each pew. We also have friendly folks on the lookout for newcomers, and they’re ready to help point out what comes next, along with our ushers, who’ll help you when it’s time to come up for Communion or a blessing.<\/p>\n
