The Shrewsbury Clock Face Has a Makeover<\/u><\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n

On April 10th<\/sup> and 11th<\/sup> our beautiful town clock that is part of Christ Church received a paint job. But not only painting the wooden background but also renewing the gold leaf on the numerals and the clock hands. This work was performed by Steve Cowdell and his son Steven of Stevenson Services of Bristol CT. That is the firm that also repaired the 1879 E Howard clock mechanism in the Fall of 2015 due to damage from Superstorm Sandy. The work was underwritten by a grant from the Monmouth County Historical Association and by the proceeds from clock tower raffle in 2016. The community should be proud of its contributions to keep this historical treasure in good health and looking GREAT at 138 years of age.<\/p>\n
