Christ Church Choir Returns Under New Director
After a long hiatus due to the pandemic, St. Gregory’s adult choir of Christ Church returns to in-person singing at the 10:00 am service on Sunday, Sept. 12, 2021, under the leadership
of our new Music Director, the talented and personable Iris Chen. The choir will be masked,
as are all worshipers at our services, in the interests of safety.
The first regular rehearsal of the choir was to be held on Thursday, Sept. 9 at 7:30 pm in the
Parish House; subsequent rehearsals will normally take place on Thursdays at 7:30.
Iris welcomes new members–even those who haven’t sung lately–to the choir. In addition,
if you play a musical instrument, Iris would welcome your participation as well. You can
reach her through her church email account .
Iris herself is accomplished on multiple instruments, as she has already exhibited during
her first month at Christ Church. On Sept. 5 at the 9:00 service, she, her husband Patrick,
and her two young daughters formed a quartet of flute, classical guitars, and recorder which played the lovely English Renaissance “Lesson for Two Lutes,” enhancing the worship experience for the congregants during Offertory.
