On January 2nd, 2019 Mother Lisa addressed the Shrewsbury Borough Municipal Board at their New Year organizational meeting. She offered an invocation and a benediction as well as speaking to this governing body of Shrewsbury.
Research Participation Request From a Doctoral Student
I am seeking LGBT adults age 60+ to participate in focus groups. The focus groups will explore your experiences using services funded under the Older Americans Act. These types of services include senior centers, transportation, legal assistance, in-home care, caregiver support, and nutrition (meals in the home or in the community) services.
I am interested in whether you have tried to use these services, how you may be getting assistance currently if you need it, and what plans you may have for the future if you do not need assistance right now.
You do not have to have used any of these services to participate!
I am conducting this research for my doctoral dissertation because I believe it is crucial to know the needs of the LGBT older adult community in order to help services become better prepared to meet the needs of the community. Everyone deserves culturally competent services as they age, and I want to help our local services be more inclusive and ready to serve the LGBT community.
