Special Lenten Programs

Lenten Soup and Study:
Sundays: Creating a Rule of Life

This year’s Sunday Lenten Series will begin on Sunday February 22nd, following the 10:00am service. Each Sunday we will examine what is meant by “A Rule of Life” and how average, ordinary men and women can establish one! The group will run for five weeks, finishing on March 22nd.  There is no “homework” for the weekly meetings; the work will be done in group. Do bring a small notebook and pen with you. We also ask that EVERYONE who comes sign up to help with at least one week’s soup meal; this might mean bringing soup, but could also mean providing bread or setup and cleanup. We also ask for you to RSVP if you are coming so we can be assured that there is enough seating and soup for you. There is  a sign-up sheet on the bulletin board next to the kitchen in the Parish House on which you can sign up to host one week.

Wednesday Mornings

9:30 AM service and Peak of the Week: Meeting Jesus Again for the First Time – This year’s Wednesday Lenten Series will begin on Wednesday February 25th, following the 9:30am service. Both are held in the Parish House Library.  Each Wednesday we will be reading and discussing Meeting Jesus Again for the First Time by Marcus J. Borg. The group will run for 6 weeks, ending on April 1st.  There is homework for this one: A weekly assignment of one chapter. You may purchase your book on your own, or you may request one be purchased for you (cost is variable, depending on where we procure it!). Requests should be made by February 5th to assure you have a copy.

For more information on either of these classes, please contact the Rector.
